World Scientific Publishes Prof Ahmed H Zewail's Breakthrough Work

World Scientific is pleased to announce a new book collaboration entitled, 4D Electron Microscopy: Imaging in Space and Time, with Professor Ahmed H Zewail. Prof Zewail is the Linus Pauling Professor of Chemistry and Professor of Physics at Caltech, and winner of the 1999 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

Prof Zewail's new book, co-authored with Professor Sir John M Thomas, provides an in-depth coverage of four-dimensional (4D) electron microscopy - a breakthrough technology that unites the time domain with the spatial one, allowing real-time and real-space visualization - developed in the Physical Biology Center for Ultrafast Science and Technology at Caltech, directed by Prof Zewail.

The breakthrough is poised to contribute much new spatially-resolved and time-resolved insights of central importance in the exploration of most aspects of condensed matter, ranging from the physical to the biological sciences.

Other notable World Scientific's titles authored by Prof Zewail are Femtochemistry: Ultrafast Dynamics of the Chemical Bond (Volumes I and II); Voyage Through Time: Walks of Life to the Nobel Prize; and Physical Biology: From Atoms to Medicine.

Professor Sir John M Thomas, a pioneer of modern solid-state chemistry, is Honorary Professor for solid-state chemistry at the Department of Materials Science, University of Cambridge. This is his second book collaboration with World Scientific.

4D Electron Microscopy: Imaging in Space and Time is scheduled to be launched in summer 2009.
