"Resource-oriented Water Management (2nd Edition)" Takes Consolation Prize at Asia Pacific Publishers Association Book Awards
Jointly published by World Scientific and China Water Power Press, "Resource-oriented Water Management (2nd Edition)" was awarded a consolation prize at the Asia Pacific Publishers Association (APPA) Book Awards. This award comes with a US$500 cash prize.
"Resource-oriented Water Management (2nd Edition)" addresses important issues related to water resources development and management. It compiles 13 selected addresses and papers on this topic by Mr Wang Shucheng, Chinese Minister of Water Resources, from March 1999 to June 2005. In view of the economic and social development in China, as well as the current situation of Chinese water resources, the author proposes China should transit from project-based water management to resource-oriented water management, from traditional water management to modern and sustainable water management.
A yearly affair, the APPA Book Awards are pursuant to promoting publishing activities of the member countries in the Asia-Pacific region, and to strengthening exchange of works among them. The Awards are given in the three categories of Academic, General and Children's Books.
