UNESCO Honours Imperial College Press Author
University of Adelaide don and Imperial College Press (ICP) author
Stephen Lincoln was honored by UNESCO for his "scientific approach to
the problems humanity faces and for ways of improving our stewardship of
Earth". In 2006, ICP published his highly regarded book
"Challenged Earth" -- which
offers a scientifically based and comprehensive insight into the
challenges facing humanity and Earth in the 21st century. In recognition
of his authorship of "Challenged Earth", Prof Lincoln was awarded the
Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) (New South Wales Branch) Olle
Prize for 2007.
A Professor of the School of Chemistry and Physics, Stephen Lincoln's
research is centred on cyclodextrin chemistry, nanochemistry and
molecular sensors. He has published widely and his work has been
recognized through the award of various medals. He is a Fellow of RACI
and the Royal Society of Chemistry. He also maintains close research
collaborations with Princeton University and the University of New
Orleans in the US.
